Gramedia Merdeka
What Is Gramedia?
Gramedia or i usually say 'Gramed' is the biggest bookstore in Indonesia, like literally it's everywhere. But Gramedia is not only sells books, it also sells school utilities, Music instruments, and some toys. Most of Gramedia's books are from KPG(Kepustakaan Populer Gramedia) book publisher, but there are some imported books too.
Why Gramedia Merdeka Exactly?
Well, to honest with you, it's only because the place is not that far from my house and maybe 'cause it's the biggest in Bandung. It's located on Merdeka street, right in between BIP (Bandung Indah Plaza) and BEC (Bandung Electronic Center).
What is The Place like?
It's big, like it's really big. It has 2 in 1-ish main building with 3 stories, what i'm trying to say is that there are 2 buildings that connected to each other so it kinda looks like in the same building, but it's actually not. Other than the main building or 'buildings', it has a food court (they mostly sell snacks), 2 parking lots (the smaller one is in front of the main building and the bigger one is behind the main building), and an ATMs place (right beside the bigger parking lot).
What do you think of Gramedia Merdeka?
I think it's great! I can find many Indonesian books there and we can read the samples as we pleased (but still, it would be weird if you stay there for quite sometimes and don't buy any book). The place is also big and wide, it makes me feel free and spacious. Other than big and wide, the place is also quite like how a library should be, but instead of library it's a bookstore.
What's your favorite memory in gramedia?
So, back then when i was still in the 9th grade i went there with my friend, we got there on 4 in the afternoon after we watched a movie. In there, We talked until 8 at night (i can't tell you what was the topic cause it's a classified information, but it makes my day).
